Jason
L. Ma is co-founder, senior counselor, board advisor, investor, and former CEO at IvyMax,
Inc. IvyMax is a
leading education software developer and in-center service provider
of education and counseling that prepares students exceptionally well for
admission to top universities.
Mr. Ma is passionate about helping bring out the best in students as whole
persons and guiding them and their parents in the competitive and
complex world of college prep. He has been a central force in
building IvyMax from startup to the highly profitable, cash-flow-positive,
thriving state today and
brings an uncanny ability to inspire and influence people.
Mr. Ma is also founder and CEO of Congruent Partners LLC, an international strategic management consulting firm which has provided acting operating CEO/CMO/VP services to technology businesses (some of which he co-founded and invested in) and which provides strategic advisory service to blue-chip and boutique investment management firms and global management consulting firms (since 2002). He is a leading senior advisor at Silicon Valley-China Wireless Technology Association (Northern California's largest professional association for the mobile and wireless industry, since 2001), a GLG Leader, and a member of the Forbes global CEO network.
Globally well connected, Mr. Ma brings 26 years of seasoned industry operating experience in C-level entrepreneurship, strategic planning, international sales, marketing, business development, college counseling, and general management. His industry experience spans 25 countries -- mainly across Asia Pacific and North America -- in the education, Internet, mobile and wireless, communications and networking, and education/e-learning sectors. He has successfully built great teams, set up and closed fundraising rounds, and built and managed pragmatic relationships with schools, mobile operators, ISPs, sales channels, enterprises, the media, and VC/PE firms. Previously, he was co-founder, (acting) CEO, EVP, board director or advisor, and/or angel, Series A, or Series B investor at several US, Chinese, and India-US technology ventures. Some were good tries and one may be pending an exit. He was founding chair of Charter Members Committee at Asia-Silicon Valley Connection, where he had built and led a microcosm of the network of high-level decision makers across the Silicon Valley technology business ecosystem. Earlier, as managing director of Asia Pacific and Japan and an international Internet industry trailblazer, he was central in developing iPass, a secure, global Internet remote access service provider that subsequently became a NASDAQ IPO darling despite a difficult capital market.
Mr. Ma sparkles as an international public speaker, and is a periodically invited speaker at Stanford University, UC Berkeley, INSEAD, National University of Singapore, and leading non-profits in Silicon Valley and San Francisco. Since 2005, former U.S. presidential candidate Steve Forbes and his team have perennially invited Mr. Ma as a VIP delegate to the exclusive and influential annual Forbes Global CEO Conference. Mr. Ma is also perennially invited as a guest speaker to the impactful annual Global China Business Meeting in Europe since 2006, and is a pundit for CNBC Asia, CNET, and Cantonese Chinese media, including Singtao Media, in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Ma holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research
at UC Berkeley and attended evening graduate
business school at Santa Clara University. On a personal
note, Mr. Ma enjoys playing with his
family, serenading his girls, humor, fine food and wine, staying fit and
healthy, reading, singing, movies, musicals, world travel, international
relations, storytelling, and evangelism for a cause worldwide.
